Stone’s Throw

Tucked into Old North Boulder, just below the foothills, this residence is a study in quiet transitions between architecture and landscape. Working alongside Surround Architecture and Buildwell Builders, Evoke Studio shaped a garden that extends the home's warm, modern palette outward into the site.

Limestone drawn from the facade carries into low garden walls that define space and add dimension. At the entry, a sequence of steel portals frames a broad linear path toward a glass-walled threshold, while oversized pavers set in turf blur the line between terrace and lawn.

Groves of aspen and multi-stem trees filter light across the terraces, drifts of grasses and perennials soften every edge, and a mown meadow path invites a slow wander. A single weathered boulder anchors the entry garden, a nod to the Flatirons just beyond. The result is a landscape that feels considered yet effortless, rooted in its neighborhood and made to be lived in.
