Orange Orchard

Set at the edge of open meadow, 4518 is a modern farmhouse retreat where architecture and landscape dissolve into one another. A crushed gravel drive curves past board-formed concrete walls and drifts of salvia, lavender, and ornamental grasses, framed by a loose canopy of multi-stem trees that catch the evening light. Behind the house, a travertine terrace surrounds a clean-lined pool, flanked by low stone seat walls, a steel pergola, and naturalistic plantings of penstemon, yarrow, and creeping thyme that soften every edge. Quieter moments unfold throughout the garden, from a stacked limestone wall with a slim steel runnel spilling into a still reflecting basin, to wide views across the prairie toward the rolling hills beyond. The result is a landscape that feels effortless and rooted in place: refined in its materials, generous in its planting, and designed to be lived in from sunrise to golden hour.
