Serene
Sanctuary

Tucked beneath a mature creekside canopy, this renovation draws on the quiet discipline of Japanese garden design to create a landscape that feels both serene and unmistakably modern. Oversized flagstone pads appear to float across a dark reflecting pool framed in weathering steel, guiding guests toward an entry defined by vertical cedar screens and warm Corten planters. Japanese maples, moss-softened boulders, and layered groundcovers soften crisp white walls and bring seasonal color and texture to every view.

Out back, a generous hardwood deck extends the living space into the treetops. A sleek, dark-finished pool mirrors the surrounding foliage, while cable railings keep sightlines open to the woodland beyond. The result is a calm, immersive retreat where architecture, water, and planting work together as one composed experience.
